n Thursday morning, the audience
of Main Hall Washington watched as
operators Antonio Colombo, Alaide
Chieffo, Barbara Bellini and their St. Raffaele
Hospital, Milan team presented the case of an
80-year-old male patient with a medical history
of hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease
and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, who previously
suffered an ischaemic stroke. Echocardiography
revealed severe left ventricular dysfunction, with
an ejection fraction of 30%, and the patient had
dyspnoea (NYHA Class III).
Coronary angiography showed a chronic total
occlusion of the right coronary artery, a critical
lesion in the left main, and diffuse critical disease
of the left anterior descending (LAD) artery and
left circumflex (CX) artery.
